The season of love has come quickly, but just because Valentine’s Day is this Friday, doesn’t mean you need to be with a special someone to feel important. Self-care on Valentine’s Day with a few friends is just as essential as any night out and some products to beautify yourself on top of that, can make you feel better on the inside and out. Nothing makes me more confident that pampering myself from head to toe, and there is no better time to spoil yourself than on Valentine’s Day night. With a few products and tips on how to relax and rejuvenate, it will become clear that you don’t need anyone but yourself to feel loved on such a romantic holiday.

FRESH: BROWN SUGAR BODY POLISH

Staying in a hot shower for an hour is allowed when it comes to taking care of yourself, especially when you come out feeling clean. A gentle scrub to wash away the problems from any day is essential. Brown Sugar Body Polish from Fresh not only smells like candy, but allows all the dead skin and negative energy to wash off and make you feel new.

GLOSSIER:

MOISTURIZING MOON MASK

The most important part to a night in is a face mask. Glossier’s Moisturizing Moon Mask is conditioning and hydrating. This mask will make you feel smooth and clean. The best part of a self-care night is that your body is feeling loved and waking up with glowing skin the next day after using this mask does that job.

JOURNALING

To find ease within myself and to wind down at the end of the night, I find journaling is helpful. In college, you are constantly juggling classwork, friends, and jobs. It seems nearly impossible to make time for yourself. While pampered and relaxed from a night of self- care with beauty products, it is just as important to focus on what's going on inside of you. On a night centered around self-love, it may be beneficial to jot down what makes you grateful or the things you appreciate about your life and yourself. You are the most important person in your own life and it is beneficial to be kind to yourself by writing whatever is on your mind.

PLAYLIST

Creating a playlist of your favorite songs whether they be calm and relaxing, or upbeat and hype is necessary as it is centered around what you like. When spending Valentine's Day with yourself or a few others, the goal isn't to please, but to simply listen to what makes you feel the best. Create a hour long playlist of all your favorite songs and listen to it throughout the night. It may bring back some of the best memories of your life, or simply ease you from stress.

Though this list isn’t extensive, I hope it makes you realize that Valentine's Day is not a time to put yourself down. The most important type of love is self-care and acceptance. When life gets crazy it's easy to forget who you are. Putting time aside to allow your body and mind to relax is as romantic as it gets.

You are the most important person in your own life, and I hope you all realize that this Valentine’s Day.
