Journal With Me
One of the best decisions I have made in 2020 is to start journaling regularly. Journaling is a relaxing and self-care activity that has recently become a popular trend. There are so many types of journals you can purchase; these include day to day planners, spiral notebooks, or bullet journals. If you are looking to purchase a bullet journal, my recommendation is to buy one directly off of Amazon. Amazon provides an amazing bullet journal selection. Whether you use your journal for creating to-do lists or as an outlet for your emotions, they are extremely effective. Here are some of the different ways I journal:
Creating lists: Throughout my weeks at school, I am constantly on the go whether it's going to class, studying, meetings, or hanging out with my friends. Creating lists helps me remember everything I have to accomplish in the week along with upcoming assignment deadlines. I use my journal to create all different types of lists. To-do-lists are the only way that I stay on top of my shit. I also create packing lists every time I go on vacation or leave school for a weekend. Writing goals down keeps my thoughts organized and my head decluttered.
A planner: Even though digital planners are becoming more and more popular, I will always invest in always having an actual paper planner. I use my journal to write down important dates so I will always be able to remember what is coming up. Thanks to my planner and being organized, I will never miss a birthday or an exam date.
An outlet: Another useful way you can use your journal is by expressing your emotions through writing and responding to prompts. This is a great way to get out what you are feeling and it will improve your mood. You can purchase journals with prompts already in the pages or you can purchase a plain journal and google sample journal prompts. Stores like Home Goods, TJ Maxx, Michaels, and Staples have many different types of journals to choose from!
There is something different about writing down a task and crossing it down. Even though this generation will start to turn to digital planners, I will always write down my TDL’s on paper. Journals are also a healthy way to release anger or sadness and it is a great way to acknowledge how you are feeling during the day. Positive affirmations and lists are two of the many ways of how I fill the pages of my bullet journal. 2020 is all about becoming the best version of yourself and it is about staying on top of what you need to get accomplished.
Happy journaling!
