What Is New York City Wearing?

Last Saturday, I took a day trip to NYC, and while walking around the streets of SoHo, I couldn’t help but notice the different styles and trends taking over the city. The variety of outfits ranged from chic and classy to comfortable and casual. Overall, I was impressed with the outfits I saw and couldn’t wait to share the latest clothes that I think will make for great outfit inspo.

Matching sets

If there’s one thing in fashion that is obvious, it's that matching sets are in. One in particular that caught my eye was a matching green satin set. Perfect for warmer fall days, this outfit effortlessly combines cute and comfortable. Abercrombie & Fitch and Revolve are some popular brands that carry these types of sets.

Blazers

A dressier look, leather and wool blazers all the rage right now. I noticed people wearing them in different settings, whether it was getting coffee near Washington Square Park or shopping at the luxury stores in SoHo. Blazers can be paired with a skirt and high boots for a more formal look or with a pair of jeans for a business casual/night-out look. Banana Republic and Zara offer many different styles of blazers. H&M is also another popular brand for a more affordable option.

Sweaters of All Shapes and Sizes

It’s not surprising that sweater vests are trending. This timeless look is perfect for layering.  One of my favorite ways to style it is with a classic turtleneck. Sweater vests can be found at virtually any store, from Amazon to Free People.

For a preppier look on warmer days, I saw many people wearing a sweater tied around their shoulders. If you want to go for an “old money” look, this style is the way to go. If you want to take this look a step further, pair it with some gold hoops and sunglasses like model Gigi Hadid, and you’re good to go.

Hope you enjoy these looks and find ways to incorporate them into your own personal style!

Xoxo,

Annie Hartnett
