The Bitchy Stylist Travels
Bonjour my little fashion gurus,
Wow, it’s been so long and so much has happened. Jennifer Lopez decided to become a pole dancer, Timothée Chalamet continues to get hotter and hotter by the second (even though he was always hot in my humble opinion), and finally I left for abroad to the lovely country of France. These are all pretty similar situations if you ask me. But this aside, I have kept all of you boys and girls on the edge of your seats waiting to hear my next installment of how the fuck you boys should be dressing to impress your ladies. Now, while it seems that that is something we all would love to hear, I want to immerse my lovely audience in a bit of culture.
Every student has the lovely opportunity to take some time to study abroad and really have a glimpse of life from another country’s perspective. When it came time for me to decide, I chose to spend some time in the south of France in a little town known as Aix-en-Provence. Ever since my ass plopped down here, life has slowed down and I have been gradually acclimated to a life of drinking wine, eating baguettes when I please, and sunbathing on my apartment balcony. Life over the span of this past month has been blissful. With all of that said, traveling to different places on the weekends is quite effortless compared to the states. Here, going to Switzerland to skydive with your friends or to Paris for V-Day seems to be the social norm, but there is nothing like taking a weekend to travel into a small French town to really solidify that you are really in Europe.
For this weekend, the town that I am going to is a few hours away and a few footsteps from the coastline called Montpelier. A nice little Friday to late Sunday moment as I like to refer to it as. While booking the trip is half the battle, the other half is what you are going to bring. This is the guide to not fucking up and packing only the essentials to ensure you have a bomb-ass weekend. To start, you have to have a great all-around weekender bag to get you from airport lounge to Delta one, am I right? For me, it gets me from the BlaBlaBus to my cheap Airbnb. My go to is my Louis Vuitton Keepall. While it was one of the most financially irresponsible purchases, I have never been so happy to have something that I can haul my shit around in. Next on the list are my shoes. While it is a weekend, I try to limit myself to only two pairs in the bag and one pair on my feet. Usually the first are my running shoes, gotta keep my ass in shape if I want an American boy like Estelle sings about, right? They are Nike Zoom Pegasus’ and accompanied with them are just some Nike workout shorts/shirts. My next pair are my new loves, all white AF1’s. Now, I did get on the basic bitch train at a rather slow pace, but I can’t stop wearing them. Finally, I have a pair of Gucci slides that get me around if I want to be a bit casual, I promise that I’m not a hype beast; they were a gift.
Finally, the clothing. I usually bring out my go-to light wash APC jeans, but I have found a new love, and they are from H&M. Now, don’t crucify me because they are just so damn comfortable and such a European fit that makes my butt look great, if I do say so myself. I also have acquired some other basics in my travels from Zara in the form of long sleeves, black and white for $15 each, really can’t beat that. To top it all off, I have come in contact with a new brand while doing my usual window shopping here in Aix, called Sandro. I went into the clearance section just to browse and found the most comfortable sweatshirt that I have ever put on my body. It is also very pink and I can’t stop wearing it! Going on these weekend trips does not mean that you need to pack everything you brought with you. I like to keep some room in there to account for some lovely presents for myself. Congratulations, I have yet again spilled the tea, thus ending another article. As always Stay Bitchy.
Love,
