Silverman's Farm Fun - Fall isn’t over quite yet

Alyssa Mastando

With Halloween’s end, and November’s beginning, many people are skipping from halloween scaries to Christmas joy. However this time in between Halloween and Thanksgiving might just be my favorite time of the fall.

This in-between period occurs right before the freezing cold hits, and the crispness of the air is just right to still enjoy outside activities! There's still time to go pumpkin picking, apple pickings, or hit that corn maze you have been wanting to try– even in mid-November!

Lucky for you, there's one place that can satisfy all of these needs and so much more, and it's only a short 15 minute drive, but you will feel like you're in another world. Silverman’s farm in Easton is the perfect place to get your last chance at all the fun activities fall has to offer. Whether you go with your significant other, your friend group, or your family, you are guaranteed to have a day filled with laughter and fun!

To start, the drive to the farm is so beautiful, with its landscape and serenity.  It has a completely different feel from the buzz of downtown Fairfield- and it’s only 15 minutes away, which is so convenient!

You pull into the parking lot and are met with the farm from both sides of the street. On one side, there is the pumpkin patch and the store. On the other is where most of the farm’s activities take place, such as the petting zoo and corn maze. Everything is set up and decorated like an old school farm and it is truly so adorable.

For the petting zoo you can walk around and find goats, bunnies, chickens, llamas, peacocks and so much more! You can even buy food to feed the animals throughout the farm.

There are so many adorable spots to take pictures that capture the wholesome memories you made at Silverman’s. The pumpkin patch might be one of the cutest photo-ops I have ever seen with its assortment of pumpkins all set up with hay bales.  Behind the patch is a little lake that adds to the beauty of the landscape as well!

Next to the pumpkin patch is the store where you can find anything from sweet treats to marinades and sauces for your next dinner. Most of the items sold there are made fresh from the farm, and so tasty. My personal favorite treat would have to be their apple cider doughnuts, which were outrageously delicious

Now is the perfect time to take advantage of the last nice days of fall weather, and check visiting Silverman’s Farm off your list. It truly has something for everyone and I guarantee you will have a great time!
