Now that Thanksgiving break is over, the holiday season is upon us, and so are finals. With this time approaching, the stress is high, and the motivation may be low. Something that helps me when I need motivation is to put on a cute outfit. If you’re feeling unmotivated to study, putting on something you feel good in may give you the boost of energy you need.
When styling an outfit to study or take an exam in, comfort should be the first thing in mind. Although the ultimate goal is to feel cute, you don’t want to be uncomfortable as it can be distracting and also make you feel less confident in your outfit. I recommend clothes that are looser fitting or made of a more flexible material. An easy way to achieve this look is with a matching sweat set. These sets make you look put together while being super comfortable. Additionally, they are low effort since you don’t have to spend the time to pick out a separate top and bottoms. My favorite stores to shop for affordable matching sets at are Zara and H&M.
Another staple for finals week fashion are flare pants. Flare pants are trending right now and often made of a comfortable material such as spandex. These pants can be paired with any sweatshirt, with plenty of colors and styles to choose from at stores like Aerie and Lululemon. Another way to style flares is with a more fitted top and a puffer vest. Puffer vests are the perfect way to add texture to an outfit and also keep you warm!
Sweaters are a timeless piece of clothing that can also provide comfort, especially if it is oversized. You can pair a sweater with flares or any comfortable pants to feel more classy. A colorful or patterned sweater may serve as the statement piece your outfit needs.
Shoes are another way to elevate your outfit for finals and also maintain comfort. Uggs are the perfect shoe that combine style and comfort. Ugg offers various styles from slippers to boots. My personal favorites are the Tasman Slippers and the Classic Ultra Mini Boots. Both of these styles match almost anything, especially loungewear.
Loungewear no longer has to look like you just rolled out of bed. Thankfully for us, current fashion trends prioritize our comfort. No matter what you wear for finals, make sure you’re comfortable and feeling confident. Good luck and don’t forget to take a study break!
