A Hot Girl’s Guide To Winter Fragrance

By: Abby Winey

To preface, I love a good floral scent.

But when I think of Daisy by Marc Jacobs or Bubble Bath by Replica I think of laying in the sun or frolicking through a field of flowers. These floral, clean scents are lovely between the months of April and May, but what about those cozy winter months?

As you can see when you look out the windows, it’s cold, it’s snowy, it’s rainy. For me, I find comfort in the association of summer scents with florals and clean cotton vs winter scents with musky, sweet vanilla type scents. As a perfume connoisseur myself, I feel confident in my three winter scents that not only make me feel warm and cozy, but sexy at the same time. Almost like a long sleeve crop top but in the form of a bottle.

First up is my current favorite, the one i'm wearing every single day:

Maison Margiela’s REPLICA By the Fireplace

Scent Description from Maison Margiela: Inspired by the feeling of comfort. The fireplace crackles with the flames of a smoky fire, while the smell of roasted chestnuts fills the air.

This warm scent combines chestnut, clove oil, and cashmeran atop a comforting vanilla fragrance to recreate the signature coziness of a crackling fire

When I tell you every time I put this on my body I get a compliment, I mean it.  I like to make a perfume mixie by using my vanilla body mist as a base, so when the fireside smell wears off it sinks into this beautiful strong vanilla scent. A perfect mix for a night out, a lazy day, and all your other winter festivities. This perfume is ringing up on the more expensive side at $144 but when I tell you it is worth every penny I mean it!

My second favorite is an absolute classic:

COCO Mademoiselle by Chanel

Scent Description from Chanel:

A delicate, sensual interpretation of COCO MADEMOISELLE designed to be worn at night, behind closed doors.

Composed by CHANEL In-House Perfumer Creator Olivier Polge, this light floral fragrance celebrates the sensuality of night with enveloping notes of white musk illuminated by a soft jasmine absolute and rose petal accord.

This perfume makes me feel like a business woman in a boss lady suit, with an amazing lingerie set under. It has just the right amount of class mixed with just the right amount of something more. I absolutely love the scent and specifically wear it on winter nights out. Ringing in at $125, I do feel like this perfume is worth the price tag. It lasts 24 to 48 hours without dulling the scent whatsoever, so if you’re in for a long night this is the perfect perfume to wear.

Finally, this absolute gem of a scent:

Flowerbomb Midnight by Viktor & Rolf

Scent Description by Viktor&Rolf: Discover Flowerbomb Midnight, the new mysterious facet of Viktor&Rolf's Flowerbomb collection. Spellbinding and captivating, floral and sensual, sparkling and intimate, this eau de parfum for women celebrates midnight, a moment of transformation where women can let their sensuality explode.

If you have ever tried the original Flowerbomb, you know that it is an amazing scent. Now, think of that scent putting on her makeup, taking out her rollers, and putting on her best outfit for a night out in the city. This scent is described as “the queen of the night” and let me tell you, a queen you will feel.

Please trust me when I tell you these are the perfect scents for winter. Try them and let me know what you think!

Remember, smelling good is feeling good.

Xoxo,

Abby
