Thanksgiving 2022 Look Book
It’s officially November, which marks the beginning of the Christmas season for many, but there’s still one fall holiday we can’t forget about: Thanksgiving! Some may spend the day in their pajamas due to their food-coma-inducing feast. Others, like myself, may like to get dressed up for the holiday in a cute fall outfit to impress the family. This fall, there’s been plenty of trends that are perfect inspiration for THE Thanksgiving outfit. Thankfully, many of this fall’s trends are comfortable, so it’s a win-win!
Let’s start with the color scheme. Brown has been “the new black” this fall and is a great neutral. You could go for a monochromatic look featuring different shades of brown. If you're not into monochrome, or want to add a pop of color, you can incorporate other fall hues such as red, orange, or purple. If you want to add a pattern to your outfit, plaid is a staple in the fall. You can add a plaid scarf as an accessory, or wear a plaid skirt with a neutral top–either way you can’t go wrong.
In terms of the actual pieces of the outfit, my go-to is a sweater and any style of pants. It’s the perfect combination of casual and stylish. This year, flare jeans have been trending and would pair well with a sweater of your choice. If you’re not in the mood to wear jeans, flare pants of a more comfortable material would be a good substitute. Cargo pants or corduroy pants are two great options as well. For the sweater, turtlenecks are a trendy and cozy option. To take it a step further, try laying your sweater with a sleeveless vest!
The right pair of shoes can completely make or break your outfit and are a necessary accessory. Ankle booties are a trending shoe right now, that would look great with any flared pants. If you're hosting Thanksgiving dinner in your own house, slippers can complete your outfit! Uggs, especially the platform slippers and Ultra Mini boots, are super popular right now. These can be paired with any pants as well to complete your look while keeping your feet comfy.
Jackets are another great way to enhance your outfit. Not only do they keep you warm, but can also create a layered look. You can add a leather jacket to a basic outfit to make it more edgy and add dimension to your look. An oversized blazer can elevate your outfit to appear more classy. Aviator jackets with sherpa lining are trending right now and would look great over a turtleneck.
If you want to be completely comfortable for the holiday, a matching sweat set is a fashionable way to do it. A matching set in a neutral color is classy and makes it look like you put in a lot of effort to your look, when you may have just rolled out of bed! Whatever you choose to wear for the holiday, make sure you’re comfortable and able to enjoy yourself. Have a happy Thanksgiving!
