At Home Bootcamp

Exercise has always been an important stress reliever for me and I could imagine others feel the same way. The satisfaction of feeling accomplished at the end of a workout gives me the motivation to wake up the next day and be active. Recently, COVID-19 has forced the whole world to stay home and we are left with hardly anything to do. Gyms have shut down causing people to workout from home or simply do nothing. I wanted to share my methods of working out from home so everyone could continue to stay active and healthy during these unprecedented times. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I run 4-5 miles on trails nearby that fortunately haven't closed yet. Running helps me focus on my thoughts and relieve any stress regarding school or what is happening in the world. Then on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, I do bootcamp in my basement! The word “bootcamp” may sound intimidating, but I promise you it is not as bad as you think. Bootcamp is a mix of HIIT (high-intense interval training) and weight training. It is a full body workout and definitely leaves me sore the next day! Bootcamp is easy to do anywhere in your home as long as you have at least one set of weights and some room. The majority of the workouts consists of variations of push-ups, planks, squats, lunges, and so much more! Of course it is much harder to get yourself moving since we are stuck inside, but running on your street or a nearby trail then completing a circuit workout will help you stay in shape and keep your mind healthy!

Here is one of my bootcamp workouts I do at home:

Do each “chunk” of three exercise four times, then move on to the second chunk and so fourth! If you realize x4 is overwhelming, no worries! Adjust it based on your needs

:) GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN WITH IT!!
